Tips for Overcoming Holiday Blues and Blahs!

Season's Greetings!

It was recently suggested to me by George McQuade III (a well known publicist) that as a credentialed hypnotherapist, I share some insights to combating the "Holiday Blues and Blahs."

The holiday season is tough for many. Family is what we are born into, or adopted into, abandoned by, or choose to abandon. Bottom line is unless you have chosen to do a Lakota "Hunkah" sacred adoption ceremony, not many get to choose their family. If you have a great family, consider yourself blessed beyond measure! Mine is very mixed. I am grateful nevertheless.

I will share some of my best common sense suggestions here, as well as a number of my favorite natural remedies for boosting; mood, sleep, calm, immunity, digestion, metabolism, and sex drive. You can read more at my website: http://aurawalkerhypnotherapy.com/

Do not feel guilty about managing time into short and do-able spurts, with difficult relatives or colleagues. This encourages happier moments. This can be visits of 30 minutes or longer. So long as you are not miserable. If you know it will be challenging, then limit the time. Create a reasonable excuse, such as; "I am sorry, but I have made other plans." I don't encourage lying, but certainly find other things that you want to do or need to take care of. If this leads into guilt or animosity, wish them well with warmth and excuse yourself rapidly. Your time is valuable.

Rest! Whether due to overwork, or underpay, or both, holidays seem to bring on stress as well as good cheer. I suggest 5HTP, an over the counter sleep aid that has no side effects. You should awake feeling better and refreshed. To stay calm at all times try Calmazon found here: www.Amazonherb.net

Keeping your sanity, and getting rest are as important as keeping your immunity boosted. Use daily doses of probiotics (w/ no sugar or magnesium stearate. Found in health food stores). Camu-Gold in travel size (boosts mood and immunity, w/ a tart squirts in the mouth as needed.) Please order from this site: www.Amazonherb.net

Too tired to "get it on" with your beloved?...a few days of this stuff -Sumacazon, will get your Jingle going:

An over the counter easy grab (I should own stock) is Sam-e. Sold everywhere (even Trader Joe's). Works better than any anti-depressant -ever. A natural amino acid, your body will recognize it immediately. It metabolizes fast, boosts mood into a good day. No negative side effects. I love this stuff and so do my clients.

Another great low cost tip: epsom salts! One cup to a full bath, detoxes you through osmosis. It draws out toxins and should clear sinuses. Salt can dehydrate. Drink tons of purified water every day. Also for sinuses I love Neil Med products. They come with a squirt bottle and pre-mixed sachets to mix a gentle solution. Clears out bacteria that often live high in the nasal passages.

Baking Soda! My fave non toxic home item. I put it in water with berries and grapes, soak for a minute or two and rinse. Both fruits carry mold. Sprinkle on pets, carpet, and around the home. A non toxic way to kill fleas and other bugs. Best way to clean your tub. It naturally kills bacteria. Brush to whiten teeth like a charm. Use a tiny bit, about 1/3-1/4 of a T-spoon in a tall glass of water to combat heartburn, kills candida in the gut, and flushes eye infections.

For holiday metabolism: Metabazon. For regular digestion: Digestazon (scroll down and find both under link.): www.Amazonherb.net
I could go on. I do whole life, holistic lifestyle makeovers. For questions, or to try my effective hypnosis protocol, please feel free to contact me directly aura@aurawalkerhypnotherapy.com

Immediate and Confidential Help for Trauma Survivors!

My name is Aura Walker. I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (Hypnosis Motivation Institute 2006) with experience working with all ages since 1995. I also have a Masters Degree in Transpersonal Counseling (every crisis is an opportunity for growth), Psychology, and Art Therapy (Naropa University 1998), and ethics training. Recently, I consulted for two years with the Psych Trauma Center at Cedars Sinai Medical Center as a trauma intervention specialist and art therapist with inner city elementary school aged children. After 12-20 sessions at the school, 65% had increased self esteem and 72% had improved behaviors.

Over the years I noticed that most of my clients had experienced trauma at some point in their lives. Whether it had been from a car accident, a bad break up, child abuse, spousal abuse, or war. So I developed a protocol for trauma release that has been effective in 1-4 sessions. In fact I noticed that often the more prolonged the trauma the more dramatic the results have been. My sessions are completely confidential. I have extended my services to do group workshops at battered women's shelters. I am also revisiting doing workshops on children's mental health awareness issues to educate teachers, on how to better manage children's behaviors in class, to help children to succeed in school. I did this for the State of Minnesota from 2001-2002 with an up to 90% success rate. The correlation between failure in school and incarceration later in life are direct. Currently 1% almost 30 million people are in prison. We tax payers are paying thousands a day to house these prisoners. Early childhood intervention is the key to lowering these staggering numbers. I have also taught alternatives to physical punishment for parents, stress management classes, and I am continuing to negotiate with Veterans Administration Services to offer my services for more veterans returning from the Middle East.

In helping people to better manage their stress I have helped people to quit smoking, to detox, and to sleep better. Similarly, I also teach clients how to have better eating habits and how to use supplements to balance their hormones so that they can lose weight, have increased libido, increased immunity, and less aches and pains. I added a potent line of all natural Amazon Rain Forest herbs to help my clients with these issues. www.aura.amazonherb.net

I always discuss my procedures in person and have clients fill out a confidentiality agreement in person. I also let clients know that hypnosis is a natural occurring state for all humans. In fact lack of sleep, stress, repetitive actions, and low blood sugar are all triggers for uncontrolled hypnosis. In a session the client cooperates with me to learn how to relax more. The more open a client is to my suggestions the faster they see results.

Please feel free to look at my website and to call me with any questions you may have.

Here's to your increased self awareness and to your good heath!

I hope to meet you soon.

Using Hypnotherapy to Achieve your Goals in 2010

Happy New Year to You!

Already I feel like this year will be a good one. Let's face it life will always be full of ups and downs, but how we deal with them is key. Some of the biggest challenges people face is dealing with body issues, self-esteem, weight loss, trying to quit smoking and general stress, anxiety and old or new traumas.

Many people seek the help of a hypnotherapist in order to try to achieve their weight loss goals, smoking cessation goals, trauma release goals, or to get relief from stress and anxiety. The truth is there is no instant formula. No magic potion, no instant cure. However, hypnotherapy can help.

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state that happens to all people. Basically the human brain goes in and out of phases of focus on attention every few minutes to cycles of 10, 20, to 30 minutes at a time. This is also similar to sleep patterns. So when your brain gets tired of focusing you go into a state of "auto pilot" basically a state of "overwhelm." Your brain starts recording information more deeply and in a less controlled manner.

Some of the triggers for waking states of hypnosis are low blood sugar and repetitive actions. So be sure to take short breaks during your day, and eat high protein (brain food) every 3-4 hours. This will boost your natural metabolism, and help you to stay out of uncontrolled hypnosis. It will also keep you more alert and functioning at a more optimum level.

In order to lose weight more effectively I can help you to become aware of which habits to change and how to achieve your weight loss goals more efficiently through proper diet, do-able exercise, and better self-acceptance. I will also teach you how to better cope with every day stress and your triggers for overeating. I will "feed you" your weight loss goals while you are deeply relaxed in a state of controlled hypnosis.

In order to quit smoking, I will help you to identify your triggers and teach you alternatives to coping with your stress. I will also assess where you are at with smoking and help you to understand how ready you are to quit. Through deep relaxation I will help you to release your biggest triggers and replace your enjoyment with negative associations so that every time you pick up a cigarette you will feel nauseous.

Life is a mixed bag. Trauma is part of life. Being born is a bit traumatic for most, and giving birth can be traumatic. As we grow older we encounter all kinds of obstacles from minor life lessons to huge hurdles and sometimes big traumas. Trauma is part of life. Currently the trauma of war is a more commonly experienced trauma because there are so many American soldiers returning from the Middle East. I developed a hypnosis protocol that is highly efficient in releasing trauma of any kind from the deep subconscious. It is like deleting a ton of SPAM mail and bad virus' in a computer hard drive so that the mechanism operates faster and more efficiently. My non threatening, relaxing, hypnotherapy releasing protocol, helps people to get past their trauma and to thrive!

Anxiety is also an every day common human experience. Everyone experiences anxiety. My stress relieving exercises combine ancient Eastern Tibetan and Indian meditation and pranic (Ancient Hindu / Yoga) breathing exercises that help to alleviate stress almost instantly. I will teach you how to use these simple techniques in your every day life.

I have a masters degree in psychology and counseling, and have been working with all ages since 1994, that's 16 years! To schedule a controlled and confidential hypnotherapy session with me, please call me at (310) 382-6313 Please also check out my website at: www.aurawalkerhypnotherapy.com

Peace to you in this auspicious time of the early new year! what an exciting symbolic time for fresh beginnings!

Sincerely,

-Aura Walker, MA, CHt
